Announcing the launch of The Outdoor Types #facialfurniture competition!

The Outdoor Types debut album “All Aboard That’s Coming Aboard” is being released on the 2^nd of August by I Blame The Parents records. To celebrate this fact, and as a way of launching the ODT blog, we have decided to hold a competition over Twitter.

The competition is entitled Facial Furniture and, basically, we would like you to come up with the most outlandish beard you could possibly imagine. Points will be awarded for originality, ingenuity and effort. The only real rule is that it can’t be made of just hair. I, for example have a large beard in the style known as ‘homeless.’ (see http://twitpic.com/23jk8u ) but in order to be eligible to enter the Facial Furniture competition it would need a little ‘augmentation’ (like this: http://twitpic.com/23jmra )

Once you’ve created your beardy masterpiece simply upload it to a photo-sharing website like TwitPic or Yfrog then send it in a @reply to our Twitter account http://twitter.com/theoutdoortypes along with the hashtag #facialfurniture. The deadline for getting your entries into us is 8pm on Sunday the 18^th of July which gives you just over a week to create and send us your beardy creations. The entries will be judged by Luke & Richard from the band and will be announced here on the 21^st of July.

I know what you’re thinking, “Why the hell should I? What’s in it for me?” Well let me tell you my cynical little cyber friend. There will be a prize for first second and third place and they are as follows:

1^st place: A copy of our debut album All Aboard That’s Coming Aboard on CD, a copy of our long since unavailable debut single Jangler Swifteye on gorgeous 7” vinyl and a super stylish Outdoor Types T-shirt which will make you the envy of all you encounter!
